The
site is less than half an acre with large boulders, and the new house
replaces an existing delapodated hunting lodge. The owner is
French, and wanted a fireproof durable srtucture. Several
appropriate building systems were researched by our office, and a
concrete wall system that would work best as thermal mass storage for a
solar house design was chosen. Arts and Crafts style was the
owner's preference after visiting another Arts and Crafts style house
we had designed.
